Clear Repair Tape
Used to repair or reinforce weakened documents. The base is made of a hemp paper 8.5 g/m2, thin and clear, Archibond S.A. 9/2 acid-free adhesive. It showed a complete absence of yellowing after a 200 years of accelerated ageing test.
Contains a very small quantity of Dibutylphtalate in order to ensure adhesion upon application of a light pressure.
The pH of the material is between 7.0 and 7.5.
Reversibility
Even after a long time, DRT can be removed with a solvent containing alcohol.
(Pay attention to the inks!)
How to use DRT
Repair: Do not cut with scissors. Tear the edges of the tape, so that the repair remains discrete. Take off the piece of tape from its silicone coated base, and apply it to the selected place.
Bonding: To bond all types of documents, photographs, herbarium, DRT can be cut with scissors.
